Join our educators at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in our 40 hectare outdoor living classroom. Each year around 13,000 students from preschool to year 12 visit us for educational programs in the Gardens.
We offer an array of hands-on engaging, curriculum-linked, educational experiences.
Students will have the unique experience of seeing native plants from four of Australia's major ecosystems – the mallee, alpine, rainforest and grassland regions – all within one easily accessible site. Around one third of Australia's plant species grow in the Gardens. No other botanic gardens in Australia can provide this learning experience.
Our Education Programs can be adapted to suit your needs. Please ring our Education Officer if you have any questions about the Education Programs offered or you would like to discuss some changes. We cater for students with special needs or disabilities and the Garden is wheel-chair accessible. Please book online using your schools' individual code.
For tertiary students
Tertiary education is undertaken through the Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research and the Australian National Herbarium in the form of Botanical Internships and graduate student supervision.
